Naftalan oil, which we apply at Naftalan, is produced by distillation of naphthene oil. It is oil with a high specific weight, and is included among “heavy” oils. It contains little light fractions such as gasoline or kerosene, but contains a high percentage of naphthene hydrocarbons, among them steranes, compounds whose structure is similar to steroid hormones and provitamin D. The healing properties of naftalan are attributed precisely to steranes.
The opposite effect appears in the form of high temperature. Contraindicated in liver diseases, acute hepatitis, acute stage of blood diseases. We do not use Naftalan in the acute stage of any disease. We do not recommend it in the acute phase of ordinary rheumatism. There, after treating with the help of classical medicine and extinguishing the process, we prevent the aggravation of the disease that will occur in the next period. A person who takes Naftalan bath 10 times gets rid of this disease for 6 months or 1 year. Of course, there will be no effect during the acute period of the disease. But it is very effective in chronic diseases. Thousands of tourists come here only because of Naftalan oil.
